Hypocaust Museum
With Ben Stringer
In a park on a hillside in St.Albans, a Roman Mosaic has been excavated and left in site.
The Romans invented concrete.
Our proposal is formed from a single ribbon of concrete leaping skyward in a parabolic arc around the mosaic.
It is designed to frame a variety of views of the mosaic to establish strong visual connections with the park and distant views of the city.
A surface shared by skate boarders, academics dog walkers and historians
